Is this any way to park a motorhome. I would not do it. The front wheels are well off the ground.

I'm at Leaf Verde in the Phoenix area for a month and was "escorted" to my "premium" space and told where to position my coach. The front wheels are slightly off the ground (rears down and emergency set) even though I leveled twice in the automatic mode.

I'm planning to back up and try to level again. However, is this hard on the coach? The levelers will take some, if not most, of the weight off the front tires so is having the tires off the ground dangerous, hard on the coach or just ugly?

Not for me but I've seen them higher than that at a state park near home.

Many of us carry blocks/boards to put under tires when faced with this situation. You just have to make certain that the blocks are wider than the tires. IMO, no good things can ever come from having wheels off the ground.

Thanks for the comments.

I moved back and releveled and the fronts are still off the ground. I carry 2x10x18's for the levelers so tomorrow a pair will go under each front tire. It's 4pm here so it's time to start the adult activities.

Im with odie on that one. I would be placing wood underneath the front wheels as well as the jacks. Makes you wonder if ever one jack could just collapse, what that would do if anything as far as damage, as the other one would still hold up?

Billwild: Your suggestion of placing blocks under the jacks also is, I assume, so the jacks won't extend as far. Good point! My neighbors think that I should just change sites (oh-oh) but I've got to believe that I will run into this many more times so I may as well figure it out in this beautiful 72* weather.

I do not know how to manually level this MH so that is the biggest problem. I'll be into the books in the morning and if I need more wood or other stuff, Lowe's is just one mile away. Thanks!

Quillback - I have spent several months at Leaf Verde. The entire park is basically flat. Why are you bothering to level at all? It really isn't necessary on newer RVs. I never level mine at LV or any place else.

SeilerBird: I know that you have spent time here -- I got the park's name from your previous post. It is a nice RV park but I want to tell you that it isn't all flat anymore and it also isn't $300 per month anymore either  ;D

Quillback - I paid $350 per month both times I stayed there. What row are you in that is not flat? I was in G row and it was flat as a pancake. Go to the office and request a flatter spot. They are a great staff and I know they will accommodate you. Have you met Robin yet? She is the hottest RV park worker I have ever seen. Tell her hello for me.

I'm in the B row and paying the extra $45 per month. Haven't taken the time to drive around to see what I'm getting for the extra. I agree, the staff is great. The young lady that checked me in is relatively new but certainly fits your description of Robin.

Think I'll stay where I'm at and learn how to level this thing manually. Besides, I seem to be the focus of humor for the big pushers and 5ers around me (you don't have air bags?... it's the short wheelbase!... you just need a bunch of bricks!... the last guy with one like yours couldn't level either...). If I can find the guy running the pool I think I can get that $45 back. lol

I think the jacks will support the weight just fine.  I just don't like having the wheels dangling like that because it makes the whole platform shakey.  We use lynx levelers, made in to easy to drive on pyramids, to drive on top of and get close to level.  The jacks finish the level leaving the tires/suspension still bearing a little of the weight.  Much less shaking inside as you walk around and a better feeling of security.
