Changes are on the way.

Renae's Kids and Grandkids come out here about twice a year from Minnesota. They just left a few days ago. The trip wastes a day of each end of their visit because of driving from Vegas to Lake Havasu City after flying from MN.

Renae says that they will visit more and have more time for visits if we move to Henderson, NV next to Las Vegas.

So we just listed our house in LHC and are going to Las Vegas to see another house next week.

The new house is in a gated community with an HOA so I will probably sell the Motor home that I have used twice. I am sure that they are not going to allow it in the driveway. It is probably just as well considering my health. I was about to spend about $8000 on Solar.

Here is the listing for our LHC house and for the Henderson house.

If I ever buy another house my main three requirements before I even look at, will be:

1. No HOA
2. No HOA
3. No HOA

After I meet those three major requirements, I will then at least take a look.

Hassles with the HOA is why I just sold one of my three houses. I traded it in for my new house on wheels listed below. I can run away from HOAs with houses on wheels.

However, some HOAs are more reasonable than others. This house here is also in an HOA, but they are not as ridiculous. And this is a MUCH nicer area. Very top of University Ridge in Reno. 5K elevation with a great view, day (mountains) and night (the lit up casinos below me).

BTW, just about every guy I know here in Reno will not buy in an HOA area.

And there are many very nice areas that are not in HOAs (as well as a lot of dummy areas).

I know, however it is about time for me to quit using a RV except for Quartzsite.

Lake Havasu City is one of the most RV friendly towns i have ever seen.

I guess that depends on how "RV friendly" is defined.

What I remember most about LHC is how it is impossible to park an RV at night outside of an RV Park. IMO, an RV friendly place will be much like a Wall*Mart I once stayed at in Canada. Big sign said "RVer's welcome to stay overnight." They had a few simple rules, such as don't release your toad and leave it, but I would still say that is "RV Friendly".

And IIRC, the RV Park I stayed at in LHC was the most expensive one I ever stayed in. Several years ago (when you and I met) cost me more than $500.00 for six nights (and they didn't have a weekly rate).

However, LHC is a rather classy area.

I should have said that it is friendly as far as allowing residents to park their RV at their house.
That is usually up to the HOA. Your HOA BODs probably has a lot of RV owners.

Here, we have to register our RV with the HOA and have it behind a gate, but it can be in view of the road. At least for now.

Both those houses are beautiful! I'm sure the new one will be like home in no time.

We visited family that live in Henderson and they took us to a great "hole in the wall" restaurant. I will find the receipt & get the name.

Best of luck in this new adventure.

Wow Bill, big changes!

I'm wondering how do you feel about going from a bungalow to stairs again?

Maybe you could do Boondockers Welcome if HOA allow RVs.

Good luck!

The master bedroom is on the first floor. I have no reason to go upstairs to the three bedrooms up there.

The 29 foot Class C is even to long for the drive without extending over the sidewalk. I did not see any RVs anywhere near that house, probably HOA rules.

You and Steve can still visit.

Our HOA said we could park our RV’s in the driveway during the “season”. When winter came I was asked why our RV was still in the driveway. I said we camp all year long so our “season” lasts 12 months.

Because I manage Forest Service campgrounds for a living, I'm often in the area a month before opening day. This usually requires me to stay at some commercial park for a couple of weeks until I can get the water system at the campground operational.
I stayed at a park in Bishop, CA this past spring where the nightly rate was "$35 a night". I asked for a weekly rate, "$35 a night", I said, How about a monthly rate? "$35 a night".
I'd stay somewhere else next spring, except that the people that own that campground own about 80% of the commercial campgrounds in the county. All those parks have the same policy.
BTW, that was for a water/electric site, they have no full hookups, and they charge you $5 to dump your tanks, even if you're staying there.

Wow Bill… my grandmother would’ve said, “that boy is like a fart in a skillet”. But good for you! Going through all that, just after moving fairly recently, to get two extra days each visit with them is a testament to the relationship with kids/grands.
We lived in Henderson for a brief time in the Green Valley area, it’s very nice. Be sure to check out Sammy’s Bar and Restaurant on Green Valley Pkw and Pizza Rock in the Green Valley Casino. If you like gaming, Green Valley Casino and Red Rock Casino are favorites with the locals.

Ok, Here is the update.

We sold our house in Lake Havasu to the first people to view it. The housing market is crazy. We have had it for just under two years and we made $330,000 on the sale.

Then the pressure was on to close on the one in Las Vegas. We made an offer to the seller on Fire Drake. Then we found out that they were going through a divorce. The husband accepted the offer and signed. His wife flew off to Cancun and said she might sign it in a few days or a few weeks.

After looking more and making two trips to Vegas we made another offer, another divorcee. She wanted to stay in the house for 2 months after closing.

We finally found the best house so far. Made and offer for $20,000 over list and they took it. Retired couple and the wife was in the hospital and they needed to make some life changes.

Here is the final winner.

Hoping it all works out for you. We will miss you at Q but maybe you'll stop in again. Our LED lit strips still working in our MH that we built in your sacker a few years ago. Always think of you when the lite goes on.
