Ive just had a great reply from HM Customs concerning the VAT and Import Duty.
I will post it to the sticky on the General Discussion area.
I hope it isn't too late for you to do something ?

PS - you asked about the South Dakota thing ?
We didnt want to do the LLC as we needed our name as the RV owners.
South Dakota are one of the cheapest for Sales Tax etc - at 3%
Escapees won't allow UK Citizens to register with them for address and mailing.
Americas-mailbox (in SD) will allow us and have been EXCELLENT with every question we have asked them.
So, we get a US address, mail-forwarding, cheap(ish) sales tax, no other relevant taxes - and they will sort out the RV registration for us whithout us having to go there.
