Wish me luck!
1.Taken in Oahu, while snorkeling, 12 feet below the surface. This will be submitted in the Animal exhibits.

2. Just a plain old peacock, but I liked it, so I submitted it.

3. A football player's portrait, during a critical 4th down play in a Junior Football Superbowl Championship here in WA state. You can see his intensity, and believe it or not, he was not looking at me, I just stepped into his viewing area while he was watching the players on the goal line. This was submitted under the Portrait exhibit.

4.Taken in Oahu (Can you tell we like Hawaii?) It's just a timed exposure of Wameia falls. Nothing fancy. The water is blown out though.

The Washington State Photographers Exhimit accepts only 40% of submissions at the Puyallup Fair in WA state, and you're only allowed 4 photos, so I'm betting at least 1  will make the final cut. Wish me luck!

Great photos. Good luck with the competition.

BTW embedded images are disabled here, so I changed your URLs to active links so folks can just click them to see the photos.

Nice photos. I especially like the one of the waterfall. Those Nikon D200s are great cameras.

Pic #1 - the one with the tortoise - what kind of gear were you using?  I really like that pic.

Believe it or not, a simple point and shoot. Olympus 870SW. The camera is good to depths of 15 feet.  My wife didn't like my Nikon cameras because of the complexity to her, so she wanted a simple P&S camera. I bought a wrist strap for it, and wore it when snorkeling about 1/2 mile offshore at Waikiki, Oahu, HI.  I shot probably 100 pictures, and only kept about 7.

Interesting, those turtles come up to the reef not to feed, but to get cleaned by those black fish, who eat the parasites off their shells. Sort of a "Car wash" for the turtles. There were no fewer than 20 turtles in this area as we dove off a catamaran.

OK, and here are my entries (I'll keep my eyes open for yours)...

Haven't heard if they are accepted or not yet.

Bad Chess...they have finished judging. How did you do?

3 of my 4 photos that I submitted were accepted to show!

I didn?t place on any of the 3, but I  did manage Honorable Mention on 1 of them (Sea Turtle). Only 40% of the 800 photos were accepted this year.

They accepted all four and got 2nd place, 2nd place, and a judges choice.

Pretty exciting.

So tell us please which photo was 2nd place and which one a judges choice?

Betty

I liked them all!

Thanks!

Your's looked wonderful too in the winner's circle!
They were strict about pictures being taken at the exhibit, so I didn't get a pic of the Winner's Circle....but I managed to talk them into letting me take a picture of my son and his portrait (taken 2 years ago) He just finished his football game (won 26-0) and we walked over to the fair ,thus the eye black.
