Hey Everyone,

I just attempted to install a 30-442 safetalert rv lp detector.  Pulled the old one out, connected the new wires and nothing.  No lights, no power it seems...  Yet there is power to everything else, lights, etc..

I checked the fuse for this lp detector and it seems to be ok.

I then made sure the battery disconnect was off and everything is connected.

Any help would be appreciated

Jason

Are you sure you got the polarity correct?  House wiring vs. automotive (RV) wiring sometimes uses conflicting color codes, so you can't always assume white is positive and black is negative (or vice-versa).

Was there power to the previous unit or is that why you felt you needed to replace it?
If there's no power then you have yet to find the right fuse.

The green light was on before.  I have checked the fuse box on the side of the bed.
I found a wire coming off the house battery; thick red wire to a little fusebox that connected to a red and yellow wire.  Could there be another fuse under the rig?

Problem solved !  I looked in the original owner's manual - under the electrical diagram it showed that the LP detector was under the only 1 amp fuse; pulled the fuse to discover it was actually blown.  Replaced and LP Detector works!!!!

Thanks for the 2 comments I received.

Jason
