Heading out on a trip from Mass. to the Upper Peninsula of MI; Looking to come back through Canada by way of Sault St. Marie to Ottawa/Montreal. Any ideas of must-sees or interesting places to stop/see besides the obvious Algonquin Park? thanks

Just east of Sault Ste Marie ON is Manitoulin Island which is very scenic, around Sudbury there is the Big Nickle along with several other scenic areas, North Bay to Ottawa follows the Ottawa River we used to stay at Syd Turcot Campground, Sid Turcotte Park | Camping & Cottage Resort but that was years ago. We have no recommendations of where to stay near Montreal, but it and Ottawa are very historic cities with lots to see and do.
Enjoy, take your time and don't get frustrated with the French signage in Quebec.

The Soo locks between Sault Ste Marie, Canada, and Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, are well worth seeing. There is an observation platform on the US side, where you can watch the big lake freighters come through the locks. Also, about a mile east of the Soo Locks in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan is a campground owned by the city called Aune Osborne. It is right on the St Mary's River where ships go from Lake Superior to Lake Huron.

And in the UP, don't miss the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Whitefish Bay.

Also, a great ferry ride is from South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island to Tobermory on the top of the Bruce Peninsula. This peninsula divides Lake Huron from Georgian Bay--both of which are in Ontario. You can take an RV on the ferry and then drive south along the Bruce Peninsula for a terrific scenic trip. In fact, you might want to spend a couple of nights in Tobermory to take a glass bottom boat tour to see the shipwrecks through the crystal clear water.
