Hello all.
I'm just borrowing my wife's Stepfather's RV for a couple months.
He bought it new in 1994 and it's sat in his driveway since then.
So I'm currently rebuilding everything on it...

I used to own a 1987 Winnebago Chieftan 27'. I bought it from my neighbor who did the same thing. They bought it new and sat it in the driveway and let it rot. I restored it as best I could, then I found out my wife was pregnant with twins... So I had to sell it.

Some day I'll buy a new class-A, but not until I know I'll be able to actually use it.
After messing with these two rotted "New" RV's, I couldn't bring myself to pay that kind of money to let it deteriorate like that... Hopefully.

Hi Sawbones,

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find answers to any questions you might have from our members. I agree owning an RV just to let it sit is does not make any sense. We live full time in a 40' American Dream that is coming up on 7 years old. We turned 72,000 miles just last month. It would be more if it weren't for the economy and fuel prices!
