Paul,

and should I give everyone advance notice that Im a big eater

Not necessarily; we always like surprises ;D Just make sure you bring an equivalent amount - and 2 heads of iceberg lettuce doesn't cut it. A half a steer or a suckling pig would be good ;D ;D

A cook-off is a contest between chefs (loosely applied) to see who can prepare the best of usually one dish, like chili or bbq'd ribs. Or in Tom's case, it could mean offing the cook ;D

Jeff, and special attention Helaine!

RIGHT ON! The Glen Morangie was wonderful. You can kick my glass anytime ;D

LOL Karl, you're right; I'd bring the cook along to a cook-off. My cook was out last evening so, when dinner time came, out came the Hungry Man TV dinner. Rats, the microwave in the house is waiting for me to order a new magnetron. Monaco to the rescue - I'd pulled the coach out of storage to get ready to leave on a short trip. I was hoping the neighbors wouldn't see me carrying the TV dinner up the driveway  :-[

Ron from Big D:

Frozen sweet potato patties?  Where?  What brand?  Never heard of them, but I'll watch at Safeway.  Is there any flavoring mixed into them?
