@viceprice, @Urban Hermit, @NY_Dutch ... Thanks for the responses. I don't yet own a TPMS (but I will soon). I'm just "know" what I read and can determine from the various pictures of the products.

Having to use a special tool would be a minor annoyance.

But I can see becoming a major one ... I need to top off the air and, damn... where they hell is that tool???

(Hopefully they sell extras so I can pre-order 2 or 3 ... )

I've never needed the "special tool" TST supplied since I don't use any special security measures on my sensors. Haven't lost a sensor since I started using them in 2008. I am disappointed that TST has started labeling their sensors so it's obvious what they are though. I would be covering that up if I had those.
