I'm considering replacing the Onan Microlite in my 95 Tioga after getting an $1800 repair estimate. I just bought the Rv knowing the genset didnt run and was hoping for a cheap fix, but not the case, stator and rotor are both bad. I'm thinking of replacing it with a new microquiet 4000. My question is , do I need to replace the wiring harness and the remote start panel/hour meter/ Or will the new unit plug right in to the old harness. The best price I've found for a new generator is at Electric Generators Direct in Illinois for $2999 and shipped free. Has anyone had any dealings with them good or bad? Or any reccomendations on where to buy? I will be installing the unit myself. Thanks Steve
