Replace mirrors with smart tiles on the kitchen back splash how to fix the wall

I wanna do something with the counter tops....I build custom homes, and one kinda rule of thumb if you will, is that you either run the granite up the wall to top to the bottom of the cabinets..... or you tile it .... you don't mix a granite and tile.. on the wall...

So what I did broke this rule?

not at all... yours doesn't really have a back splash, but more of a counter trim piece... what I consider a back splash is 4'' to 6'' or more...

yours looks fantastic, and on mine it won't look as good...in fact, I can't see a way to make mine look good like yours or it would be done already...

doing a lot of looking and studying,...the only way I see to do mine right is change out the counter tops.... or leave it alone....
the only thing I personaly would have done different than you is, I would have run the back splash to the window and around the power plug...

if and I say "IF", I do mine I will remove the back splash...but I have to find a color that will grab a color out of the counter to make it dominant

other wise it will clash and be a waist of time and money...

kinda like socks on a rooster... what color would you get....
