I want to replace the kitchen and bath counters.
We live in So. Nevada and temps can reach 120 in the summer. Will formica delaminate from the particle board int that heat.?
Thanks, Pat

Not usually if done correctly. Instead of using formula you might try and find a shop that has a small piece or corion and have it fabricated and installed.

Out coach has an undermount galley sink and came from the factory with formica. Over the years the water had gotten in the seams and swelled the particle board under the formica. First thing we did was pull the formica tops and replace with Corian. Had the tops done by a friend who owns a cabinet shop. I removed the old tops and helped him install the new.

With the proper adhesive, the Formica(or Wisonart) will be fine. If you are worried, why not use plywood substrate rather than particle board or MDF? Or switch to solid surface (e.g. Corian) instead of board + mica?
