Yes we have heard of that done before. That is now the plan. They also was on the engine for the motor home. Made a nest on the battery and then found on on the engine. Checked there because we flunked DEQ and I test it and found #7 injector not firing. That was an easy fix but this is crazy.If you leave the cover off when you're not using the genny for a long time, it will stop the rats from getting in there and making nests. They don't like to make nests where it is light.
Same goes for the hood of motorvehicles, etc. Keep it all as light as possible where you don't want the rats.
