What happened to Dave's dulcimer? He's obviously a very talented guy and plays guitar too.

I guess he has taken a liking to the guitar. Jeanette says he hasn't played the dulcimer in awhile. She says his only problem with the guitar is that he tries to sing along. ;D ;D

Jeanette,
what is the story of your very neat name badge?

Great photos. Thanks, Ron.

A few more pictures from the SE Rally in Hollywood, SC.  (Charleston)

First I want to thank Gary and Nancy for arranging this wonderful event. Too bad you couldn't enjoy the fruits of your labor this time.

The company of fellow RV'ers was perfect; the weather was perfect (almost); the RV Park was most suitable and on and on.

I tried not to duplicate images already posted, just trying to fill in a few spots.

Enjoy, Carson and Carol from Florida,

Thanks Carson, I'll get them into the album shortly. Care to provide captions, or should I use your catchy file names?

Thanks, Tom. I happen to think my catchy file names will keep it on the light side. Would appreciate it.

carson

The file names ARE catchy, Carson, but a year or two from now we will be scratching our heads trying to remember the names of the people in them. Not the Muscovy duck, perhaps, but some of the others.  ;)

Glad to see the additional images by Carson.

Shirley and I left Lake Aire this morning at 8:45 am ET and arrived in Montgomery, AL at 4:30 pm CT.  We stopped in Savannah for brunch.  431 miles.  It was a great day and the sun came out while we were in Georgia.  It warmed up some.

Hope to see all of you down the road and hope that Gary & Nancy are back on the road soon.  Thanks to you two for setting up the rally.  The rest was easy enough for the rest of us.

Liz,
Glad you liked the badge. At Texas Trails we all wear our ID badge (especially at bingo since it is required under Texas gaming laws). It really helps build community since if you can read there is no failed memory search for a name. Mine has a mgnetic clasp that I really like.
We missed you at the Southeast Rally, perhaps we can get up with you guys this winter in Texas. The Rally really turned out well with five veteran couples and five newbees. Although we seemed to all have had a great time, it would have been  even better with Gary and Nancy.
By the way this is my first social post on the Forum so if I break any  Forum etiquette conventions please feel free to let me know. I have lurked on the Forum using Dave's account for a long time but last year he made me get my own account .

Another fun shot --Halloween Midnight Magic. The "Catch and release pond " at the rally.

:) great photo Carson I really like that one.

I don't have any more photo's to add but, I would like to send out a big thank you to:

Ed & Donna for urging us to make it to the rally if at all possible

Frank and Barb for taking us under their wing when we arrived to make sure we met everyone.

Gary & Nancy for setting up the rally in the beginning, we were hoping to meet you there, guess we'll give you a call when we get to FL.

And, all the forum members who made us feel so welcome and ensuring (1) we had a lot of fun  (2) we ate way too much!

This was our first rally after a year on the road and it's one we'll always remember.

Cheers

Dale & Karen

Thanks much Dale and Karen. T'was an extreme pleasure meeting both of you.

We arrived home safely and are getting back into the routine. Big surprise when we got home, the pantry was infested with hundreds of moths-- Indian Mealmoths- (google it) took us several hours to kill them and vacuum them up. They were hatched in a sealed Oatmeal  cardboard can that had been there too long. - amazing. They ate through the can and got out and were everywhere. I am still vacuuming up dead bodies today.

Thought you might be enthralled by news like that.

We'll leave the light on any time you come this way.  Travel safely.

Carson and Carol.

Dale & Karen, now you know why I pushed so hard for you guys to take in the Rally.  We have only rallied with a couple of couples there, but have met so many of the framily since our first rally, and we have yet to meet anyone who are not super people.  With common interests, being of the same age group and a love of travel, how could the Rally be anything less than an outright success.  It is a bummer that Gary and Nancy had the troubles they had as they are great people too, but that only meant that others stepped forward to make it a success.  The bottom line is that Donna and I can't wait to see many of the same people at Quartzsite in January.
