I vaguely remember a discussion quite some time ago, either on this site or on the old CIS forum about Shark vacuum cleaners.
I am looking to buy a new vac for our motorhome to replace the old one I salvaged from the house. It is your normal upright and is too wide to get into many of the nooks and crannies found in motorhomes.
I found a Shark canister vac on a website for $59.95 but this seems to lightweight to do a good job. Any ideas ??

We tried the handheld Shark vac for touching up and were disappointed in its performance. More noise than vacuuming.

We like our Sanyo 3-in-1. See http://govacuum.com/san3invacwit.html

Gary I agree about the Sanyo 3-in-1.  After talking to Pat Dick I decided to get one and like it very much.  Mine is model # SC-180.  Ned ordered it on line.  The first one that came the brush didn't work so the company gave us a return # and sent me a new one before the old one was even picked up.

Gary and Norma,

That Sanyon looks like just what I need if it isn't too wide. Thats the problem I have with the upright I am using right now, its too wide to fit into small areas that are common in my motorhome.
Can either one of you tell me how wide yours is ??  The info on the site doesn't say.

The power brush is about 12" wide but the hose attachment has very good suction so if you can't get into small areas with the power brush you could use the hose.  By the way my name is Lorna not Norma.

Woody,

My wife went through several vacs trying to find one she liked. It was almost as bad as looking for the right blouse, or shoes, etc. We have had the Sanyo longer than any one and she still likes it. Heck, I even use it once in a while. :)
