As another member stated the vent pipe can produce that smell very easily. I had the smell outside the bathroom in the hallway. I found that the vent pipe had seperated from the top of the black tank. Had to remove a plate down below to access the top of the black tank and vent pipe and found that it had worked it's way out of the rubber seal. Had to go on the roof and push it back in the seal. Problem Fixed !!!!
