I have an Uncle that served aboard the USS boxer in Korea and I served on it during the Cuban thing. They have built another ship with that name and I thought I was posting a PIX of it on FB to send to my uncle.

I was retired directly to Permanent Disabled Retired List with 31 year active service. The PDRL is on mine and my wife's ID cards. My VA rating is 75%.

FE though I did not personally serve (Wrong number 4-F blood pressure) it's not like I did not try (I really did) wound up doing a serving in a different way (police dispatcher).

I do not recall the post you were apologizing for but from your description I can not imagine anyone in this forum being offended.  And thank you for your service.
