Anybody use em? I understand what they are and what they are for(in the same way I understand how nuclear fission happens) but are there any real advantages?
Are they difficult to learn? Am I better off just roll casting with what I have?

I hadn't heard of spey casting until I read your message, although it didn't take long to find out what it was. I knew about the technique, but didn't know what it was called. I've never used one of those rods and I suspect I'd have to un-learn my fly casting techniques (habits) before I could cast a fly with two hands on the rod.

Thats kind of what i ws thinking too. It probably isn't worth it for me, most of the rivers I fish in don't require a huge cast, maybe if I hit some of the more remote rivers it would be. I'll have to check a little deeper into it.
