Anybody have experience restiping their RV.  I am considering just to restripe over the existing tape.  It is faded, but not peeling.  What should I use to pull the tape and rid of the residue if I decide to do this?

Thanx,
Randy

Folks usually use a heat gun to remove the old tape.

I found it faster to remove the tape by using a long dowel rod and winding the tape up on it. By using a long dowel the prssure is spread evenly over the tape and it does not tear. I used a glue remover to clean up the residual glue.

Also If possible get the decal area in the direct sunlight and very warm  Even use a bucket of HOT WATER  and keep it sponged off and would assist in the removement.

How about replacement pinstriping or graphics?  Looking for a vendor with a variety of colors and size for the pinstriping.

Thanks,
Randy

To remove striping:  Use an eraser wheel.  It is a rubber type wheel approx 4" in diameter that you mount into an electric drill and literally erase the decal.  Surprisingly it does not harm the surface under the decal.  It is often used on boats, cars & trucks.

New stripes should not be put over old stripes as they will either not stick good or distort over time.

All stripes and stripping materials can be found at a good auto body & paint supply shop.  Or look at http://www.eastwoodco.com/.  The erasers are shown on http://eastwood.resultspage.com/search?p=Q&ts=custom&w=eraser
