The 5 Second VW belt change

Never done one with the enging running, but I've done a few by that method before... Way easier than the 30 minutes it takes a pro do do a Workhorse 8.1 I can tell you that.
 
Yeah, but wait until worn brushes make your generator stop charging.  It takes 2+ hours to get to the screw holding the lower generator brush in place.  You have to remove just about everything on the top side of the engine.

At that point you might as well replace the generator with a rebuilt one.
