The original was ok, but it kept beating worse and worse. It finally beat itself to death with a load of clothes stuck in it.
I like the new Splendi, it washes 15 pounds of clothes and dries 11 pounds. I really like it and I can do 3 loads an evening if I want to
I'm sure a stackable washer and dryer would be bigger but I'm very happy with what I have, it will serve its function. It's very quiet and you don't even know its there till you get a minor vibration on the spin cycle, nothing more.
