Water heater and the Texas deep freeze

I did see the leak source and I'm not certain the freeze was primary cause. The leak was right at the weld for the hot water outlet so there could have been a pinhole in the weld that over a period of years developed into a leak. It's all academic now, I thought about keeping the tank but I resisted the urge.

I would fill the tank with water and then presurize it with air just to see if that was the only spot

That tank left the property about a week ago inside a very large truck .
