Rookie owner of 2005 Winnie Vectra. Just wondering what to expect for fuel usage if camping without shore power somewhere nighttime temps are high enough to need the AC or daytime temps so high A/C needed to keep the living area comfortable. I realize it's dependent on several variables but at this point I can't even make an educated guess.

thx to anyone taking the time to offer input.

Our 8KW Onan generator uses 0.5-0.6 gallons an hour on average. we have roof air, not basement air, but I can’t think the fuel usage is much different.

Cummins specs the QD 7500 at 0.56 gal/hr at 50% load, meaning when producing 3750 watts of powe output [0.96 gal/hr @ 100% load, and 0.21 gal/hr idling with no load]. For an hour of a/c usage, you would have to estimate how much one or both compressors actually runs in that hour, but 0.5 gal/hr should easily cover it and other incidental power needs as well. Remember, when the genset runs, the fridge auto-switches to AC, the batteries start charging, etc.
