30' or shorter Class A suggestions?

OK, thanks for the responses. Lots of people here obviously think anything below 30 feet is way too small to full-time in, even for a single person. On the other hand, these folks full timed for a year or so in a 29 foot Newmar Class A, then decided it was too big and traded it for a Class B...

30' or shorter Class A suggestions?

I continue looking at the possibility of getting into an RV on a full-time basis. (You can check my introduction for more information about my current situation.) Lots of pros and cons when considering a towable versus a motorhome. But I still find the motorhome very appealing. As noted this...

    Extended Warranty?

No deductible on the original basic warranty. True, some of the problems occurred before the 36k mark.  The 2nd breakdown was after that mark. But, there is no trip interruption reimbursement under the original basic warranty. Both of the breakdowns occurred two states away in Colorado.  Just...

    Extended Warranty?

I bought the extended warranty, AKA Mopar Vehicle Protection  "Maximum Care", from Chrysler when I bought my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. IIRC, it cost about $2,200 for the policy. I've only had the vehicle a little over two and a half years, and I can assure you Chrysler has already shelled out more...

    Removable Fifth Wheel Hitch?

Thanks for the explanation.  I'll also search YouTube and find some of those installation videos.

    Removable Fifth Wheel Hitch?

Ah, ok, thank you.  I didn't see that from the video. Does this rectangle block simply bolt on somehow, or is there any drilling or modifications required?  Does the ease/difficulty of installing it vary from trailer to trailer (due to differences between the kingpins)?

    KZ trailer/FW owners...how are they?

Have been looking at the brochure for KZ Sportster trailers and fifth wheels. Saw some that had floor plans I liked and they seem to be well equipped. However I'm not familiar at all with KZ. Do any of you own KZ trailers or fifth wheels? What has been your experience with them?  Would you...

    Removable Fifth Wheel Hitch?

I just watched YouTube video about the Andersen hitch. So to use that Andersen hitch do you have to make any kind of modification to the trailer? I'm used to seeing the hitch plate so I guess I wasn't sure how the trailer was actually connecting to the ball on the Andersen hitch.

    Removable Fifth Wheel Hitch?

This is very interesting!  Are you still doing this? I'm mulling a fifth wheel myself but of course the hitch taking up the bed is a problem. If I can remove it without backbreaking labor like you're doing, that is pretty cool.

Trailers (not 5th wheels) that include a washer/dryer?

Thanks for the responses. As for the toy hauler suggestion, I'm not talking about a quad runner or motorcycle or things like that. So I think everything I would want to bring with me could be fit into a "regular" RV. When you start talking about Purchase cost and everything, then I wonder...

    Belated introduction :)

I have thought about that! The idea of having the garage for toys and gear storage is appealing. But I think I can squeeze my stuff into the various storage areas of a "regular" RV. I'm sure I can secure the bicycle somewhere  inside . It's one of those  expensive type so I don't want to hang it...

Trailers (not 5th wheels) that include a washer/dryer?

Good point. I make it a point to have easy-care clothes when I'm traveling . But I often have at least two loads because of wanting to use a different water temperature or cycle for different clothes. I'm not sure having a washer dryer is an absolute necessity for the RV I might purchase. But I...

Trailers (not 5th wheels) that include a washer/dryer?

I wouldn't consider myself handy enough to do that kind of work myself. But good suggestion on the possibility of retrofitting a washer/dryer of some sort. Thanks for the response!

Trailers (not 5th wheels) that include a washer/dryer?

RedAndSilver...  TBH, I have little idea what RVs cost!  :-[  that's one of the many things I need to learn so I have a better idea what I realistically could purchase.  And definitely before I buy so I don't get ripped off LOL. I would have thought a motorhome like the one you described in...

    Belated introduction :)

Jackiemac...  thanks for the info about Johnny Walker!  Does seem like a good idea to set up close by for a few days just in case there are any bugs. Especially with a new RV which should certainly all be under warranty.
