    Basement A/C

We recently had our basement ac/heat pump replaced with a brand new unit. 2 years ago we had the compressor replaced during the GNR ta the Winnebago factory. The weather cooled and the next chance we had to use the Ac we found we were not getting adequate cooling. We took the coach to a...

    Norcold Refrigerator repairs

I just returned from Shipshiwana to drop off my coach to have the basement air worked on. I had talked to Leon Hershberger (owner) about the problems I was having with the basement air and he had some knowledge and explanations  that made a lot of sense with regards to my basement air. While...

how often should the water be change in the holding tank?

Just a thought, When the Navies of the world relied on sails (before the steam age) it would take up to 3 months (if I remember correctly)to a destination (Europe, Englend to North America for example) and they would fill the casks at the point of departure and drink from those casks for the...

    Step motor problem

You have a 12V DC motor that powers the steps. The commutator on the motor may be dirty and the brushes are not maintaining good contact. Make sure the steps are turned off and then go under the coach and tap the motor with a small hammer. Make sure you are clear of the travel of the steps if...

    Leveling jacks not fully retracted?

I dunno about a warning "horn". When my jacks are not fully retracted I just got the dinging sound and blinking led on the HWH control panel. I have also had the HWH alarm come on while driving down the road and I just pressed the retract button and it would eventually go off. That does not...

    Picking a route for a 3-week trip

I suggest that you find a place where you can get a good rental price and then go to the websites for the surrounding states.  They (the web sites) will list many attractions and give locations. You should keep in mind that gas prices might be close to $4.00/gal and the RV you rent will probably...

    Leveling jacks not fully retracted?

The problem is that the hydraulic valves are open and the springs on the Jacks are no longer strong enough to pull  the jack(s) back all the way up or the shiny metal is dirty ans the dirt is keeping the jack from coming all the way up. If the Jacks dont come up all the way you can do a couple...

    Air horn came on

Hopefully this weekend temps will be in the 40's. I was thinking a warmer temp might help. I know the If compressor is under the hood but the snow pack sorta deep for now.

    Air horn came on

My coach is kinda buried in the snow. I went out to run the engine and generator today just to get things going. After about 5 minutes the air horn activated and would only stop blowing if I shut the engine down. I am suspecting that maby there is a relay that stuck in the closed position. I...

    Saugatuck mi campground recommendation

Are referring to the sand dunes at Silver Lake State Park? If so, there are multiple RV parks in the area (Silver Hills, Yogi Bear, Silver lake State park, Sandy Shores). We have stayed at Silver Creek RV Park many times. They have concrete pads with fire rings and a great staff. We tow the Jeep...

    Thinking about a Jeep

Regarding the lift kits. If you have sampled the new JK's you will notice that to get in the Jeep it is a higher than normal door height (as versus other SUV's). If you do the lift kits it becomes an even higher climb to get in the Jeep. Its great for off roading but for everyday use it can be...

TV~Do you Watch TV in Your RV ?

We have both the over the air and satellite for our TV's. We have a sports package on the  satellite so we can watch our local baseball and hockey teams while on the road. We suspend the satellite service at the end of the season and renew the service when we start the RV season in the spring.

    Wife wants a Kindle

I have an android 10" tablet. I have the Kindle app on it. I really like the screen size and the fact that I can size the text for easier reading.  The battery life is really great and I can read it in the daylight without too much glare problem. I had a original Kindle that was not back lighted...
