    Camper Siding

As Gary said, there doesn't seem to be any difference in sealing each etc. Neither one has a clear advantage over the other. If the fiberglass one has seen a leak, it'll show big time in delamination. On the flip side, that doesnt happen, so if a leak is fixed you might never know it happened...

    Keystone or Forest River

Lesliel, Point here I'll make is the decision is up to you. Neither brand is any better than the other. They use the same suppliers for there stuff. If people have a problem with one brand or another and nobody goes against it etc, well! Some have brand loyalty for some reason, why, could be...

    Keystone or Forest River

Wow! You did it again! "As I said, expect some quality issues with any new, especially entry level camper." First post didn't mention "ANY" just entry level and now this. "ESPECIALLY." No where did it say "SOME" "MIGHT". And used is more a crap shoot then new. Judging by these forums, ALL RV...

    Keystone or Forest River

From the tours I did anything Berkshire Hathaway and Thor Industries makes, same attention paid. Slam Bam get outta here man. Now the way I read your post, yes, Grand Design DRV Suites and a few others take their time build a quality products.

What is the entry level nonsense? And because of likely to have issues? Just like autos, there are different levels. Lets talk Silverados. You have a base truck, work truck, LT, LT1,2 and LTZ. Still the same truck , just what comes on it is different, the FRILLS. If I have no need for something...

    Wall Planks

Forgot to add. Its a permanent setup. Planking is only 1/8" thick and will be adding 20 square foot. Weight wouldn't be much, nor for my case matter to much.

    Wall Planks

We have a newer RV that the wife has been having me change the decor on. Now I have a new idea to quiet the other half. Like all campers, the decor is ok, nothing special. Looking to do a few walls in peel and stick actual wood planking. Its made by Timberchic, its 1/8 thick with a 3M double...

    Add an awning?

Based on what I have dealt with, your awning that is all ready installed on the unit doesn't have much if any backer. On my 5th, the 2nd time I put out the awning it began to pull away when I lightly tightened my safety straps. Going up on the roof checking thinking the screws were loose, out of...

    Not enough hot water

Were in a permanent setup where we are at. Look to see how much room you have where the hot water heater is setup. Usually its larger than than the unit requires. it calls for removing drawer units etc to access the spot. We have done a few RV's adding a 12-20 gallon unit. Sometimes you can find...

    Gray tank & Black tanks

From actual experience, BOTH CLOSED until they need to be emptied, then gray flusheds out the line after black has been cleared first. My experience was the park system backed up, were on a hill, but lower than some, but higher than the backup, so! When everyone uphill dumped theres it hit the...

5th wheel RV not level when attached to a 4x4 Ford truck - any suggestions?

Please do not consider using blocks on leaf springs, EVER. This came about for, well I won't say it, but Forrest Gump has a saying for it. Cheap 4x4 trick from the 70's, works until a blocks twists out and they will, just give it time. Shackles, H style only. Leaf springs can be re-arched some...

    Mice vs Softener Sheets

Actually anything that smells will only at best deter mice for a short period of time. If hungry or cold enough, nothing will work because either they get used to the smell after many attempts or these things lose their strength enough it no longer bothers them. Stainless steel wool at every...

Seeking Advice on First Travel Trailer

As Gary has stated, look used to start with. When we bought our first unit it was used and I'm glad we did it that way. You have no idea on what you actually want and or need. Buying something for a much less of a cost vs. new and taking some time with it you'll learn things. Do you actually...
