Brake replacement for a Alfa 5th wheel

I would think any RV dealer that has trailers could either fix it or refer you to a shop in the area.  Also, there is a database of Alpha resources somewhere on the web...  I did a quick Google search and did not find it, but I know I saw somewhere either here on this forum or in one of the...

    Happy Birthday Gary

Belated best birthday wishes.  Someone told me in February when I hit this milestone that "Now you are a REAL senior citizen!"  But, I don't believe it.

    Trip to Grand Teton Mts.

We took 35' gas rig towing Suzuki Grand Vitara along I-90 to Buffalo, then South on US-16 to Worland, spent a night at the Longhorn RV Park (very nice place) outside Dubois, WY, over the pass, and down to Moran Junction, then through Jackson.  There was some major construction between Dubois and...

    Selkirk International Scenic Loop campgrounds?

Thanks Bruce.  Somehow in researching this I had overlooked that.   Now, the next question is: Do we need reservations?  Has anyone in the group taken the loop with or without reservations, and did you have any trouble finding someplace to camp?  We are currently in Sandpoint, ID, and all the...

    Selkirk International Scenic Loop campgrounds?

We are planning to take the Selkirk loop soon.  I know there will be commercial campgrounds along the route.  Has anyone driven the loop, and if so, where did you stay.  Any reccommendations?  How about public lands - Forest Service, BLM, etc? We have a 35' motorhome and toad, so cannot fit...

What do members use for mosquito repellant?

We surely want to thank everyone for their input, suggestions, and warnings.  We boondocked in Mike Harris FS campground outside Victor, ID for two weeks.  The skeeters were thick, hungry, and aggressive.  I have been taking extra B-12 for about 6 weeks now, and they may land on me, but few...

    Ron Ruward in hospital 6-3-09

I've been off-line for a couple weeks, so this is indeed sad news.  Our thoughts and prayers will be with Sam and Ron.  He graciously invited us to visit them this summer if we make it up that way.  Ardra, thanks for updating the Framily and please continue to do so. Doug & Vicki Smith

    Telesteps 1400T ladder

No personal experience, but I saw Jeff Franz using one (or something similar) on his Allegro Bus at Escapade.  It really worked well for him.  Jeff is not as heavy as I, so at 215, I'm not sure I would want to carry too much up one.  I realize there is a safety factor in the 250# rating, but... ...

Getting ready to buy need help deciding

Sorry for being redundant.  I've been off-line for a couple weeks, and was trying to get caught up on the forum. Doug

Getting ready to buy need help deciding

I see this has been read 53 times, but no replies, so I'll jump in with my 2 cents worth - probably its market value. ;) Vicki and I spent about three years shopping for our RV.  We started out looking at 5th wheels, and ended up with a motorhome based on our travel plans, setup needs, and all...

    RV Organizations

I'll second Ned regarding Escapees.  We just went to Escapade - their annual rally.  Very informative, lots of great people, good vendor support, and the RV Boot Camp was superb.  Also, they are much less "commercial" than Good Sam Club.  They offer all the services without the "spam".

    Am I totally nuts ??

I'm nuts to be driving something this big, but I love it.  We've had our 35' Southwind for 2-1/2 years.  At first, Vicki would not even ride in the copilot seat.  The last couple trips, she has finally moved there, and since Escapade has started talking about the possibility of driving.  She is...

    New Here

I first heard of a Jackalope at "The Jackrabbit" on Rt. 66 in northern AZ or NM about 55 years ago - so long I don't recall the exact location.  I just remember signs along the road saying so many miles to The Jackrabbit. Anyway, welcome to the forum, Jackalope Hunter!

    HWH Jack System Parts

I believe the best thing to do if you really want a drain is to have a nut or fitting welded onto the bottom of the tank.  This would probably need to be a taper pipe fitting or a straight threaded fitting with an O-ring seal.  The resevoir should not have any pressure inside, but certainly the...

    HWH Jack System Parts

No, they were very similar to the inserts the OP has linked, but instead of a flange perpendicular to the axis of the thread like the Time-serts, they had a mallable cylinder on the outside end that had teeth or bumps on the outside that we would stake out (flare, or peen out) that gripped the...
