    Considering Our First Seasonal Site

We converted to seasonal camping last year after towing on weekends and holidays for 3 years. So far, we love it. Like others have mentioned, each campground will vary on rules and what you get for the fees you pay. Our campground is open April 1 to October 31 and charges a flat rate. The flat...

Outdoor Kitchen- do you use yours?

Yes, we use ours every time we camp. It was one of the deciding factors in our purchase. The outside refrigerator provides valuable extra space that the inside refrigerator can't. It is mainly for beer, water, pop, and condiments but can fit food for the grill (ours is larger than the little...

Help! Can't decide on new travel trailer

Maybe he bought the one he wanted vs the one his wife wanted, and now his internet privileges have been revoked?  ;D

Help! Can't decide on new travel trailer

I'm curious to know what decision was made. Any updates to share?

    Sound Conditioning vs RV Door-Slamming

It sounds like you've tried all the basic things I would recommend you do. I sleep with a fan on the cabinet next to my side of the bed, and that seems to do the trick for me. I've also been known to have a couple of adult beverages around the campfire before heading off to bed. That might add...

Bad sensors on black tank ?

I agree with John. The sensors aren't bad. There is likely something left behind after you dumped the tank that stuck to them. Seems to be very common. We have a black tank flush out system built into our TT that I can hook the hose up to, to flush the tank. This always "fixes" my sensors. I...

RV on Order! Have owned 2, but not NEW.. What to do when picking up new RV???

Absolutely agree with this. I would recommend doing the walk through before you sign anything. Our dealer wanted us to sign the paperwork before we did the walk through. We told them that wasn't going to happen.

    Hello from Beautiful BC

Congrats on the travel trailer. We also transitioned from a tent to a travel trailer earlier this year, and we have enjoyed every minute of it. This forum has been a wonderful tool for us during that transition. There is a ton of info here.

Picking up our first RV - Weight Distribution Hitch

We also purchased ours from the same dealer that we got our TT from. They set it up while we were doing the final walk through. By the time we were done doing the walk through with the service guy, my truck was hooked up with the new hitch. The service guy then showed us how to hook it up...

Thanks to my next door camper this morning!

I thought OP wrote the post to be funny. That's how I interpreted it, and I literally laughed when I read it. Maybe that's just my dark sense of humor. If he really is angry though, I would suggest sleeping with a fan on. Works for me. I don't hear anything going on outside my TT until I turn it...

Road trip #2 with the Powells

Sounds like a busy but fun trip. Glad it all worked out for you. I hope I can take my family on a cross country trip someday. I think it would be a great experience. Now you've got me thinking.

    Tire tread gone

It's possible, but I couldn't say that it is for sure. I believe he said the unit was somewhere around 8,000lbs. I'm sure that is a dry weight figure. I know he hauls quite a bit of extra "stuff" with them. He's had it for a few seasons now though without any tire issues. Do you think if it was...

    Tire tread gone

The tires were made in 2011. They are not the originals, but were on it when he bought it. I also think they are a little close together, but the point of view from the camera also adds to that. It wasn't something that I noticed when I was looking at them in person, but I do agree from the...

    Tire tread gone

Just a little bit of show and tell here. Last weekend my buddy pulled his 5er home to find the tire on the left in this condition when he got there. It was about a 60 mile drive home and he still isn't sure exactly when it happened. The tread is gone! The crazy thing is, the tire is still...

    How did you decide?

For us, we knew it would be a TT because we didn't have enough truck to pull a 5er and we were not interested (at that time) in a motorhome. Having never towed a TT before I was nervous to even look at anything close to 30ft, so we decided something shorter would be a good place to start to...
