New Fly Rod Owner Needs Advice

Tom, the 3 to 4 feet (or whatever length your tip section is) of yarn is sufficient to "load" the tip section. If you practice casting on grass or a lawn, you might want to wash and dress the fly line afterward. If you practice casting on pavement, be aware that it will destroy the line in time.

New Fly Rod Owner Needs Advice

Actually, practice casting with only the end piece of the rod. You can even do this while watching television.

New Fly Rod Owner Needs Advice

Suggest you tie a 3 or 4 foot piece of yarn to the end section of your rod, then practice casting to achieve a good loop.  This will help you get the feel of a good cast.  Strongly ditto getting casting lessons. You might want to hire a guide for a combination learning/fishing trip; I...

    Dish Pay-As-You-Go Experience

Hooked up a USB external hard drive (non powered) and it works great with my setup. So far so good with Dish.

    Dish Pay-As-You-Go Experience

So sorry about your problems.  I initiated a Dish account, setting up a Tailgater and companion receiver, i.e. the whole works, just this afternoon, it is my first Dish account.  After plugging in the receiver, I called Dish, got a young man from Mexico on the phone, and he was extremely...

    Honda CRV 2011 4-down

To specifically answer your question, yes.  We have 2011 Honda CR V and tow it 4 down with no problems.  One is required to go through a "shifting" procedure prior to towing, but it only takes about 5 minutes.  Also, one may only tow for an 8 hour period, then must start the engine and go...

    Fishing Campsites

Another great riverside campground is JFK Park on the Little Red River near Heber Springs, AR.  The Little Red River is a tailwater (Greers Ferry Lake), and is the proud holder of the world record brown trout (or recent world record holder) at 40 lbs 4 oz.  There is fishing at the park, and a...

    Fishing Campsites

This is a great discussion.  I'll offer up Quarry Park, near Mountain Home, Arkansas, on the Norfork River.  The Norfork is a short river, only 4.5 miles long, but home to a former world record brown trout, 38 lbs 3 oz.  Fishing at the park is good, and there is a catch and release section...

    Guard for Toad

Protect-A-Tow!  Used one on our trip to Alaska and back last year, and it worked great.  It is relatively easy on and of, and doesn't require a lot of room to store.

    Apollo Microwave/Convection/Halftime Ovens

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the opening for an Apollo is larger than for most microwave/convection combos.  Consequently, all one would be required to do is fill in sides and top, or at least that's how mine measures.  I'm probably going to just set one in the opening and not worry about the...

    Apollo Microwave/Convection/Halftime Ovens

We've got one in our MH as well.  Works about half time...thus the name.  At first, Apollo reps were friendly and helpful, then later they were pretty hateful, so we don't call anymore.  Have replaced ours once already, and it, too, quit within a few days.  Next time, will replace it with...

Good Leveling System for Class C's

If raising the front on an E450 chassis without jacks, doesn't one need to put blocks under BOTH wheels because of the twin I-beam suspension?  Have seen most with only one wheel raised, and it didn't appear to affect the chassis, just raised that particular wheel.
