    Elevation Route Mapping

Thanks Marty1300!   Any time I can replace a bulky, oversized Atlas with an App, I'm all for it! Ron

    Elevation Route Mapping

In print there is "Mountains West" and "Mountains East" used by truckers. Good information on grades etc. Looks like it's no longer in print.  But here's one on Amazon...

    New Truck 4x4 or 4x2 ??

If buying a 1/2 ton towable, be careful of the clearance between the bed of the truck and the part of the fifth wheel that is over the bed.   As the truck beds get higher - as in a 4X4 - this clearance gets less.  There is some adjustability of the pin box but only a few inches. Some hitches...

Businesses impacted by virus that do not make the headlines

Don't know about elsewhere, but in Florida Gun Stores are considered "essential." As are churches.

    Hello from NJ

If it's the show I think you're watching, you should know that real RV buyers don't choose from the first three the salesman shows them.  Most people who buy RVs spend a LOT of time at RV shows and on the internet finding the right size, and layout for their needs and may look at 100's of RVs...

    Keystone or Forest River

I've owned two new Forest River products - Flagstaff, and Sabre - and recently purchased a 2020 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel. In both Forest River 5th wheels I had issues that requires returning them to the dealership for "adjustments." I'm amazed that so far I haven't found a damn thing wrong...

    rubber roof treatment

Thanks Gary.  That's kind of what I expected.  I had the first trailer's roof recoated after a few years in the FL sun.  This one is so new I think I'll wash and inspect and perhaps seal it again this spring. Ron

    rubber roof treatment

Hi all, Our 2016 Sabre 25RL is our 2nd 5th wheel, and 2nd trailer with a rubber roof. Last spring I had Parliment Coach in Clearwater treat the roof.  They washed it, and put a sealant on it, but it didn't look much different than it did when I took it to them.  Previously I had a roof...

Winnebago Minnie Winnie 22R with 5.4L V8 Engine

John wrote: "LOL. We're out in ranch country (Texas) and the speed limit near our exit on I-10 is 80 mph. It's 80 almost all of the way to El Paso, about 400 miles worth. " As I said, 80 MPH is illegal in most states.  Texas is big, but it's dwarfed by the rest of the country. Ron

That's what most people think - that speed "LIMITS" are actually Suggested Minimum Speed.  But they are not. In Canada this past summer I noticed that instead of "Speed Limit" they use the term "MAX."  Maybe it makes more sense.  They do seem to follow the Maximum Speed Laws much closer than we...

Best route in Nova Scotia from Baddeck to Cape Breton

We did the Maritimes last summer including PEI, Cape Breton, Lower Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. Coming from Maine - we went to Alma where the Bay of Fundy National Park is located, then took the bridge to PEI - stayed a week or so - then took the ferry to Nova Scotia.  There aren't that many...

My rig's happy place is 57 MPH (in the right lane).  Not in a hurry. Get between 11.5 and 13.5 depending on grade and wind. I think 80MPH is illegal in most states.

    Roadtrek "toads"

Suggest a Fiat 500 with manual transmission.  Great little car, and 4 year bumper to bumper warranty.  Around here you can get one new for about $12,000.
