    Auto Leveling problem

I had my outside Lippert touch panel fail (2014 Montana).  It would work "sometimes" if you really pushed a button with your fingernail.  I really think it was because of sub-zero temperatures.  I bought a replacement (easy plug in install).  No problems since.

    My GFCI won't reset

With a digital meter, what you describe is called "phantom voltage."  It doesn't really exist.  It's just the nature of high impedance meters.  Put you meter probes into a known working  receptacle and see what a "good" reading is.  Should be solid 120V.  If you aren't seeing that same reading...

    Water pump problems

Sorry I'm a little late to the "party", but that doesn't sound like a solenoid (relay).  Those would have 4 wires  (a switched hot and a ground on the line side and a hot in and hot out on the load side0.  What you describe is likely a fuse or thermal breaker.  Jumper the wires to see if that...

Class A vs Al Can Hiway

We took a trip from northern Idaho to Kenai, Alaska this summer.  All sections on the "Alaska Highway" (not the Alcan) (starts in Fort Nelson) route were paved, but....there were a LOT of spots where there was gravel and serious bumps due to road repairs.  Had to slow way down and eat dust over...

    Livingroom slide out problem

You need to check voltage at the motor when it is under the normal full load.  Also, check using the ground that the motor uses, not just anywhere handy.  Any resistance should show up as voltage drop and that will help you narrow down the problem.

    The first RV and trip

We had similar plans after retirement.  Retire, buy an RV and hit the road.  Then it was "Keep the house and store the RV until we're ready to take the plunge and sell the house."  Well...here's how it really went.  We bought a used Class C and completely restored it, inside and out.  Kept it...

How do you jack your trailer?

My 5er has hydraulic jacks that can lift the wheels off the ground, so no problem there.  My cargo trailer (tandem axle) is easy to lift with the truck jack under the suspension...not under the axle tube.  If not still hitched to the truck, chock the wheels and of course, don't get under the...

    Need 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendations

I have a Curt Q24 hitch, long bed GMC 3500HD crew cab diesel and a Montana 3402 fifth wheel.  GVWR of trailer is 16K, and I have never had problems with the hitch. The only thing I found is that the lever is hard to pull if you are not level, but having dear wife rocking the truck while you pull...

    G rated tires versus E

Just a comment...the G614 STR is an LT rated tire, not ST rated.  The ST in the STR name means service truck regional.  Also, ST tries have a max speed rating of 55, if I remember right.  I destroyed three factory supplied ST Goodyear Marathons on my 40ft Montana....too heavy.  Never a worry...

    Banaff and Jasper NP

I live not too far from the border in northern Idaho.  Highway 95 goes from Nevada all the way to Canada, past some beautiful country to Coeur d'Alene, ID.  There's a nice RV park at Blackwell island right on the lake.  There's also a theme park called Silverwood with its own RV park about 15...

    Toppers or not

I'm in the "no topper" camp.  I have none on my fiver with four slides and before I close 'em, I just get on the roof and sweep off any leaves, needles, water, etc. before I pull 'em in.  A topper would make that impossible and in a wind, leaves and junk can easily blow into the space under the...

    Changing slides switch

Mine has a set of valve "knobs" that allow you to shut off each slide valve individually so you can open one, two or all three slides.  Only one switch.  The bedroom is electric.

    Uh-Oh

My Montana has, in BIG RED letters.....dump valve MUST be open when using this (flush) fitting.  Probably good advice!  Flushing with the dump closed I doubt would do anything useful, since the deep water may reduce the spray of the flush fitting inside the tank.

    Black tank dump valve

Since you probably have no access to a RV parts store, you might try this.....(don't shoot me, I'm a jury rig expert).  If you can connect a water hose and get some fresh water flow, use a wet towel wrapped around the hose, wedge it tight in the sewer outlet, open the black water valve and try...

    Lippert landing jack issue

The fact that the jacks move when unloaded seems to indicate that the electronics is OK....that pretty much leaves hydraulics.  But...you could try resetting the Levelup controller.  On the main control box. pull the connector with the RED wire for a few seconds, then reconnect.  Are your slides...
