On my own and looking at truck/trailer purchase, weights advice

Thanks for your advice, Gary  :).  I can always not take the ATV but have to seriously consider whether I at least want the option to bring it or don't care to I guess.  I will have to look at that sticker on the trucks and get back here with that info.  I definitely want to be sure I have...

On my own and looking at truck/trailer purchase, weights advice

When I got back I will have to check for that sticker on the actual trucks.  THanks!  The 1850 payload is what he told me.  He also told me that the '17 Chevy 1500's now all have a trailering package included in them and a "hill descent control".  I looked for the trailer brake thing on the dash...

On my own and looking at truck/trailer purchase, weights advice

I'm looking at buying a truck and TT and am attempting to figure this all out on my own LOL.  I know not to trust the dealers on weight issues for sure!  However, I am currently looking at new Chevy trucks and the dealer told me yesterday that the 2017 Chevy 1500 can tow 9200#.  I was looking at...

Back again :) more questions about...well alot!

I've  only done so in passing donn.  Sat in one of each (A and C) at the RV show a couple weeks ago and definiltey felt uncomfortable/overwhelmed in the A seat but more comfortable in the C, probably because I've always driven a 1500 truck most of my life.  I shyed away from teh C's as I had...

Back again :) more questions about...well alot!

Thank you Gary :).  Whatever else, I want to make good sound choices and do things the right (and safest) way I possibly can.  I definititely don't want to buy a truck and TT/5 and get out on the road and find out I made the wrong choice  in truck for sure.

Back again :) more questions about...well alot!

Thanks for the advice.  I guess I need to go back to the drawing board and rethink everything a bit.  I'm feeling a bit stressed I think not only from having to learn everything from scratch but also because everyone (anyone I have talked to and every single dealer I've been to) has told me that...

Back again :) more questions about...well alot!

Thanks, Stan.  Yeah, the further I go down this journey the more overwhelmed I feel.  It also doesn't help that times like this also make me miss my husband  :'(  I never had to worry about any of this stuff; he just knew and took care of it all.  Deep breath....OK.  Do I truly need a diesel...

Back again :) more questions about...well alot!

Wow, I'm feeling severely overwhelmed, as I had been thinking that as long as I paid attention to the GVWR and tow rating of my vehicle I'd be ok.  :-\  Also, someone mentioned "dropping into 4th" or something and I realized I have absolutely NO CLUE on that subject.  No one I have talked to in...

Back again :) more questions about...well alot!

Thanks everyone!  Yes, the Chevy I'm considering is a gas (I don't really want a deisel right now and can't really afford or justify the extra cost now).  Now I'm not sure on the 3.73 vs the 4.10 after reading the replies.  I guess some feel one way and some the other.  I was considering going...

Back again :) more questions about...well alot!

Hi guys.  Well after a few months of visiting RV shows/dealers and looking and researching trucks I am left with some questions.  As I stated in my previous posts, I am going this solo.  I've decided that I will definitely be purchasing a 3/4T, either Chevy or Dodge, and have visited those...

    My story

THanks so much for sharing your experiences :)  I've been currently having second thoughts/doubts on whether I can handle things by myself, so hearing your experiences has been a great help!  What one woman can do, another can do!

    Going it alone questions...

Agree with Gary.  I like the "idea" of a Jeep/rock crawler and like to do that kind of stuff, but I LOVE mudding on my ATV LOL!!  I've thought about possibly giving it up but.....no  ;)

    Going it alone questions...

Thanks, Roy.  Yes, all of that is what I've been wrestling with.  Now that you, Gary, and others have told me to check the GVWR on TT/5's I am going back next weekend to look at those figures and see what I will see.  After looking and researching for the last month or so I definitely like a...

    Going it alone questions...

Thank you so much for sharing this :)  It definitely helps me feel more comfortable with this whole idea to hear from another woman who has done that which I am hoping to do.  I definitely believe that "what one man/woman can do another can do" philosophy, but I currently dont know any that do...

    Going it alone questions...

I actually bought the ramps a while ago but every time I try to do it I get scared LOL!  So I have the ramps and have someone else ride it up and back down....  For now...  Until I get over my fear of it  ;D
