My SO and I would like to drive to Alaska from Michigan. Should I be concerned in making the trip in a 2004 Winnebago Adventurer? It has a W22 Workhorse chassis with 36,000 mi. on it. I would have no concerns about taking off for Florida (1200 mi) with it, but Alaska will be over 10,000 miles...

I have what appears to be a roof vent similar to the plumbing vent on the front of the roof of my Adventurer. What this vent for? 

I think its is a personal preference between 4 down or dolly. I have towed a Chrysler T&C on a Master Tow dolly for a few years. IMO the down falls are: 1. laying on the ground to hook up the safety chains to the van. It's not bad getting down, but it's a bear to get back up. 2. Loading the van...

Based on the comments, I bought one last night. For $5 it is not a big loss it it doesn't work.  Took less than 5 min to install. First trip towing the Colorado this weekend. I will report back.

Flat towing my 2015 Colorado requires the negative battery cable to be disconnected. Has any one used the battery disconnect switch sold by Walmart? (Around $5) What is your opinion of this switch?

Why would you need a drive shaft disconnect unit with a manual transmission?

O&M manual say's the battery must be disconnected while flat towing. Something to do with the steering I think.

What type of battery disconnect switch is best for towing a 2015 Colorado? The knife blade or rotary switch type. What about just removing the neg. battery clamp and securing it away from the terminal?

$3000?? My Master Tow w/electric brakes, was under $1500. I also added a set of magnetic lights to supplement the dolly lights

We have towed our 2014 Town and Country on a dolly for 2 years. No problems. However, I am switching to flat towing my Colorado. I just can't get down on the ground to hook up safety chains anymore. Make sure you get a dolly that is wide enough to carry your van.

Definitely the northern route!  Too much traffic and people going around Chicago.  If you cross into Canada @ Detroit same thing. If you bypass around Lake Erie to the south it is a toll road. Go through Northern Michigan, beautiful scenery on Highway 2.  Cross into Canada at the Soo, head East...

I have owned and driven both the F53 (2001) and now the W22(2004). The W22 is far superior to the F53 is handling, power, fuel economy, and 22.5" tires. The big advantage come with the transmission! My 2004 has a 5 speed Allison. The 2006 may have a 6 speed. I have not driven the newer F53...
