    Disc Brakes Conversion

While I didn't replace my drum brakes with disks, We bought a new 5th wheel a couple of years ago that came with the Electric over Hydraulic disks installed.  LOVE them - I will never tow a trailer without disk brakes again. Ralph Tompkins

Should you move from your Verizon 3G to a 4G modem?

One note - If you are grandfathered into the 3G unlimited plan, then unless you are in an area where you can actually use 4G, and need the speed, then you might want to wait until you are forced off the unlimited plan (when you either "renew" your contract or upgrade to a new device, as they are...

    Distant Networks from DISH

Could be more than one reason for a so called "activation fee" - 1.  There was still a balance due on a bill owed by the prior owner.  The billing can be tied to the receiver and card id. 2.  A leased unit that the prior lessee failed to return to Dish Network (also tied to the receiver ID and...

New Verizon 3G data plan: 10GB for $80/mo

I have just upgraded on my "new every 2" plan and the modem was $39.00 online, and I picked up the 10 GB plan.  It does require a new contract, but I wasn't planning to drop it anytime soon anyway.  And $10.00 per gig overage is a LOT better than $250.00  ;D.  I've clocked up to 20 Mb/sec in...

    Verizon wireless modem

One thing to note - AFIK, if you have a DD214 (ever served in the military), you can get the 15% discount on the $80.00 10 gig plan.  While they would not do it for the "old" "5Gig" and "unlimited" plans, they will do it for the new 4G plans.  If you do travel near one of the current 4G areas...

Upgrading our new (to us) RV

Just a suggestion - Check the boating community.  google "boat wood stoves" (without the quotes), you'll find wood stoves suitable for small enclosed spaces.  They do have to be vented, though.                 Ralph

    STAPLES!

Just remember - back in the early 20th century, one of the advantages of the assembly line was that you could train someone quickly to do one task well, then pass the product to someone else for the next task, instead of requiring a craftsman that knew the whole process, or even a specific trade...

    E-mail server with Verizon

Just a note that the newer email clients (i.e. outlook 2007 and thunderbird 3) have started to make it even easier to set up your email - in the wizard just put in an account name, email address and the password and it will automatically set up the imap/pop inbound and smtp outbound for you.    ...
