    Window Tinting

After driving a relatives truck with the very dark tint allowed in Nevada I decided I wouldn't have it on any of my vehicles. Bright daytime driving wasn't too bad, but once it got dark it was a nightmare for me!  I couldn't see anything except very bright lights - not pedestrians, bicyclists...

    carpet

What I heard was a concern for what is under the carpet. Personal use styles such as rentals don't get the water hot enough to be truly steam, and can leave the carpet wet enough to damage unsealed article board or plywood. A professional company can heat the water to higher temps so carpets are...

    Off Again

Yup...and we have dressed hogs.  We called the butcher to do our personal beef.  I still think store bought meat tastes slightly off!  And you don't know sweet until you eat an ear of sweet corn fresh picked off the stalk (no...don't cook it, just eat it raw!).

    Buying from Cruise America

We rented a Class C from Cruise America last year.  When we picked it up, we were told we were lucky because we had a unit that was only a few months old!!  So when we did the walk through I naively expected a unit in new condition.  Boy was I wrong.  True, there was only a couple thousand miles...

    Very Important question - COFFEE!

I found a 60's traveling coffee pot set at a flea market.  It is set up to use both 120 and 12v accessory (cigarette lighter for us oldies).  It is a percolator style, came with both cords, 2 cups, sugar and coffee containers, coffee measuring scoop and best of all....a bracket to mount to the...

Looking for a new place to call "home"

Sorry - can't make recommendations because of where we live!  We currently live in Elk Grove, California, and if you follow the news you know this is absolutely the worst place to find employment.  Fortunately we are retired and not currently seeking work.  Mid-June we will be moving to Oklahoma...

    Coke Cake? Hey, Wendy...

In one of my packed up boxes I have a recipe for Coke Cake...the two things I specifically remember about it was the suggestion to use the 6 oz. bottles of Coke (the person I got it from was sure there was a difference in taste) and the option to add maraschino cherries. I have also made a Coke...

    Hello

A lot of people use a kind of rubbery shelf liner.  It is sold in rolls at WalMart and I believe Camping World.  It is also sold in sheets to be used under throw rugs.  Our shelves are lined with this material.  Some have cut small squares or rounds to place between each plate, bowl, etc...

85 Mallard...at stand still, so thinking about other things to do.

I have been to LaCrosse!  A few years ago I took my father (89 at the time) back to his home town of Winona, MN - and while we were there they were holding the Grand Excursion.  What fun - and we did 4th of July on the river in LaCrosse.  Still have cousins in Winona and I think I may still have...

    Royal Wedding

I, too, stayed up all night and watched The Royal Wedding. For those of us in the west it meant staying up all night. Hats were mostly beautiful, but there were a few "what was she thinking!!" hats. Loved the bridal gown!

Hints, Tricks and Gadgets/Tools --- small ones.

I use  "cubicle clips" on window valances.  The one by my sink is used to hold a recipe card if needed.  The one by the door is used to hold lists, coupons, or whatever other papers we may need as we leave the RV. If you don't know what these are here is a link for Office Depot ...

    Outdoor or Indoor "Decorative" Lighting

Yardenvy.com has palm trees and flamingos. I googled lighted palm trees. Couldn't find the martini glass - but you might check restaurant/bar supply stores.  I would think the martini glass would be something used in a bar.
