    Do Motorhomes have seatbelts?

We had 6 on our RV when we bought it, the driver and passenger seats, the round chair and 3 on the couch. We bought and fitted belts to the dinette too, because the family is 8 and there are sometimes one or two guests, so we fitted a belt to every seat.

    tow lights stopped working

Buy some locking pins for your hitch, it is a deterrence not a final solution but we've not lost one yet!

HARDEST THING TO FIND -- A DUMP STATION

Cabella's and most State or County fair grounds have them too. I dislike having to pay for the privilege, but I will do so if I can't find a freeby on the smart phone or by local knowledge, ask other campers!

    Coach Won't Start

Has the RV been stood for long? Especially with half full fuel tanks? Sounds like it might be water in the fuel, when storing for a long time, you are better reducing the airspace above the fuel as the freeze and heat cycle can cause water vapor to condense out overtime. As the fuel pick up...

    Diesel or gas?

I agree with the diesel prognosis in the mountainous parts of the country! While driving along in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Montana and Wyoming a long with other RV traffic, you can spot the biggest difference for me as soon as you hit some of the 3 or more mile hills, the gas RV's begin to slow...

    Pay-as-you-go wifi Hot Spot

Take a look at Utah's Cricket phone stores, I understand that they have a cell phone and data package hotspot wifi deal for about $60.00 a month without the need for a contract. Well worth looking at!

Durability of an Onan diesel generator

I had a fault on my genset and the technician that fixed it, said it was advisable to do an oil, oil filter and air filter change on it once a year on average usage, we have put 6 to 8 weeks of running 2 air cons, TV DVD, games console, microwave, coffee maker, or any combination of 1 air con...

    Retirement / Cost saving Ideas

Buy dry goods that you eat a lot if in bulk, big enough to make a saving, no so big as to need a second trailer to carry the boxes in. If I was full timing, I'd probably get a small freezer to go in one of the through lockers, and a pull out to sit it on! I'd invest in the following: a wifi...

HELP! Class A Running in Driveway and Door Lock Stuck!

On the diesel DP's the fuel shut off solenoid is electrically operated but can often be activated manually in an emergency. It does mean you have to learn where it is, and how you need to access it, how you need to avoid spinning parts of the motor assembly. If you have a gas engine, it would...

I live in FL, but need to get away from summer heat, for health reasons

How about some left field ideas: Rent out your existing for all or most of the cost of rental  for the hotter months, if you got back 75% of your current costs, you might be able to spend time in cooler camps anywhere in the country, with a different vehicle / trailer combination. Or buy a...

    Travel Winter Question

Don't be in a hurry to die! Use the gearbox gently, you don't need to be in Auto, you can work your way on side streets by selecting 3rd or 4th on a 6 speed box. Allow 2 times as much distance as normal, if someone screams past and snatches your space, back off even more and avoid the...

    Winter Heat Problem solved

We have a Cube heater it's a ceramic heater doesn't use a lot of juice, we got it from Sam's Club a couple of years ago but I've not seen them there recently. If memory serves me it's either 750 or 1000 watts and has a good thermostat on it, I don't run it very high, but it's enough to take...

Leveling Class A in the desert???

We have two set of the blocks and I tend to use them on hard packed surfaces, but I also made 4 solidly built pads out of 2" x 4" larger ones for the double rears, and smaller ones for the front. once I arrive on site, I lay the pads under the front of each wheel, then with someone watching and...

My Motor Home got stuck in soft grass

I didn't get stuck while driving, but I did get stuck boondocking on Mirror Lake Highway, Ut at about 9,000', I had pulled off the road onto dry ground, fed the family, built a fire, had a great evening, settled in for the night and as we all slept the rain poured and poured and poured, even...

    Using Cruise Control

http://ecomodder.com/forum/EM-hypermiling-driving-tips-ecodriving.php Lots of useful tips, I would love to have a standard gear box on the MH, but the Allison 6 speed with eco mode and cruise control does a pretty good job an anything except the harder hills, and out here in Utah we have a few...
