    Class C preference?

I would recommend getting something a bit bigger than you think you need.  Once you have to stay in it for a long rainy weekend you will be glad you had the extra space. Also a longer RV is really not any harder to drive.

    Running the generator while traveling

Thanks all for your advice. I will check the manual and see what it says.  The T.V does work while the ignition is on because it is located in the kitchen area and I can not see it while driving. I do have a small inverter that we use for the cell phones, not sure if it will work for a...

    Running the generator while traveling

My wife is looking at doing a cross country trip from MD to El Paso Texas this summer.  I can not go because of work commitments. We have four kids that love to watch TV while we are driving  and we need to run the roof A/C.  To do this the generator needs to be running.  I was told that the oil...

Flying J dump stations no longer free

The local campground here in MD charges $25 dollars to use their dump site if you are not camping their.  I usually use the free one off of I-95 when I need one. -Steve

    Overpass clearance

We have never had a problem on any of the main roads.  But in Western MD we got lost and ended up on a small back road and the clearance sign was less then 50 feet from the bridge.  I noticed the low bridge before I saw the sign.  Luckily we were going slow and had room to back into a small...

Buying Class C and can't see prior to purchase......

Last year we bought a 2010 Winnebago Access 31C and love it.  My wife and I have 4 kids and they all fit in the RV.  If we have another couple or our kid's friends join us we have enough room to blow up an Areo bed  in the kitchen area and have the two older kids sleep on that.  My two little...

    How nice is it.

I live in MD and I can not wait to start camping again.  I love the snow but I am ready for spring and looking for new campgrounds in the area to try.

    Homeless in Rest Stops

That is just sad.  Some made a choice to stay there but I think others have no other options.

    Question about RV'ing costs...

My wife and I just bought a 31 foot class C Winnebago last fall.  We budgeted in the cost of fuel when bought it and when we take our trips.  It is a lifestyle that we choose.  We love taking our 4 young kids camping in our mh.  So even if the cost of gas goes up we will continue to use the mh. ...

    Ladder?

If you do decide to buy and stow a ladder the Little Giant is a great ladder.  Folds up smaller than most ladders out there.  I bought one and have used in around and in the house and love it.

taking a MH to get rear shocks...

You could also look for a large RV dealer that has it's own maintenance department. The dealer where I bought mine does all of their own work in a large 7 bay facility.

Help needed on Buying a Class C - BIG vs small

The class A motorhome's are nice and do have move living space. But they do not make up the queen bed over the the drivers seat that you will loose in a class A.  The dinette folds down but only small kids would be able to sleep on it.  And if your two kids are older they may not want to sleep...
