Hi guys. I hate to come to you only when I'm having problems, but this one's threatening to put the brakes on my trip through the Sawtooths.
I'm trying to have my propane tank filled for the first time since I bought the rig two weeks ago. Unfortunately, there's some sort of leak in the fill valve that's causing propane to shoot out the sides when it's being filled. Three different propane filler-upper-guys had the same issue. According to the last one, he thinks that the fill valve is cracked and preventing the tank from pressurizing.
I'm having trouble believing that it's truly broken, since it was sold to me with a half tank remaining.
Does anyone have experience with something like this? Are propane systems fairly standardized, or am I going to be out of luck trying to find a suitable replacement? I have an older 1986 Class C (Chevy Dolphin, built on a G30 van chassis), if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance!
