    Pin box to Gooseneck adaptors

I am in the process of purchasing a 1 ton dually to pull my trailer in my sig.  The truck has a gooseneck ball in the bed.  I was wondering if it is recommended to get an adaptor for the trailer or should I put a king pin in the truck instead of the ball? I was told you can't get the...

    5th wheel GVWR Question -

With a 5'er you need to worry more about your TV GVWR.  You will hit that faster then you will GCWR.  I have learned this from experience.  As said above look at your axle weight ratings for your truck.  When computing your trucks GVWR don't forget to ad all your passengers weight and all the...

towing TT -- 3 safety concerns

For the WD Hitch and sways, I have no experience with them.  If it was me I would take them a RV dealer and ask them for a class on how it should be set up or just wait for someone else to chime in. The tires should also have a minimum pressure also.  With a little less pressure it gives the...

Can we use a short bed truck to tow a 5th Wheel RV?

You do not need a long bed.  You can get a sliding hitch or a conventional hitch.  The slider lets you move the trailer back for tight maneuvers.  For everyday towing you don't need the slider. I have a short bed and the dealer told me when I was backing it up in yard or a  RV site to slide the...

    GM 6.0 gas V8 vs Duramax 6.6

At first I thought the same thing but the 2500 and 3500 have the same GCWR.  Your difference in the two comes at the GVWR.  The reason they have the same GCWR is they have the exact same drivetrain from what I understand.

    GM 6.0 gas V8 vs Duramax 6.6

The 2001 also have a 22,000lbs GCWR, and a GVWR of 9,200lbs.  Which when I had my truck weighed it was at 6,900.  So I am at the limits on both sides.  I looked into it pretty hard before I bought the trailer.  Dealer said it was a 3/4ton towable 5'er and I had to make sure.  I still wish I had...

    GM 6.0 gas V8 vs Duramax 6.6

I am sure by now you have picked your truck and trailer combo.  If not I say Diesel all the way no matter which one of the big 3 you get.  I own a 01 Chevy 2500 with a Duramax and the 5sp Allison.  It pulls a Raptor toyhauler weighing 14,000lbs.  I have taken it from NY to GA a couple times set...
