I have a LOT of devices that need charging and in the space- challenged RV I was wondering if one if these was a possibility:

What do you all think?

They are a possibility but since they are larger than a normal outlet on the backside they might not fit into the box in the RV. Buy one and give it a try.

They look like an awesome idea, just do not overload the circuit.

They also make multi USB 12v adapters for a cig. lighter socket. It might be a nice idea to get one of those too. You would be able to charge all things without 120v service.

Tom- after reading your post I thought " what the heck- I WILL order one!"  ;D
Worst case scenario I can install it in the house. But if it WORKS it will be fantastic!

Capt Steve- great idea on the multiple lighter. I will look into getting one of those too
I intend to use this just at night so hopefully circuits will be okay.

Here is another option.  I think I got it at Fry's and I am sure it was much less than $30,  It says Cyberpower on it.

With the tag line on your signature, I thought you might appreciate the signs on the coach that is facing the beach right now.

Stan,

I will let you know for sure! Glad to hear you have one and like it. It seems like it will be a wonderful cure for a messy issue at night as I charge the three kids iPods and my iPhone.

Huey,

Oh I do like that one too. May have to go by Fry's- I need to get more charging cables and I hear that is the place to get them. Charging cables vanish around here like crazy.

Love that sign on the RV! :D

If your RV is like mine there are no boxes that the outlets fit into, the wire goes into the outlet and the outlet has small tabs that hold it in the hole in the wall. So...... for me, something like this would work better, maybe for you too?

There are several ways to work on the electrical. You will need a circuit tester. Plug the tester into the outlet you wish to work on and then turn the breaker off and back on again one at a time until the circuit testers lights go out. Then that circuit is dead and you can work on it in peace.

Tom - yup I have a circuit tester. I will be sure to test to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Bucks- Wow that is a clever beastie too! Are you bidding on it? (Would be bad of me to bid you up more.  ;)

I really like this one better, it would save a lot of work.  I will have to look around for one I am sure that one is not the only on E-Bay. :)

It has excellent reviews on Amazon too!

WEST!  ;D

I am really bad today... I need to lock my wallet away somewhere or shred my Mastercard. Purchased the Amazon outlet too. I am now officially covered no matter what.

Looks like you got the advice on turn off the circuit to that outlet. And you've got a circuit tester of some type to make sure it's dead. If you didn't I'd have suggested a table lamp/coffee pot/portable radio etc. to plug in and then when the circuit was off the appliance would be too.

To put your mind at ease, I'm not bidding on it. I have a number of 110/usb plugs that have come with my Kindle, Ipod, etc. which I just plug into a power strip. With them I can mix and match what needs to be charged. Of course I don't have any kids left at home to fight over who gets it first, but it works for me so I'm not bidding on another.

Maybe if I get bored tonight I'll take an outlet out and get a picture.

A little late, but I think I'd prefer a 12 volt USB charger.  That way you can charge your devices while you're going down the road or even when parked without hookups. (they don't draw much power from the coach batteries).  When you have hookups you won't draw any power at all from the batteries, it will come from the converter.

A 3 way cigarette lighter splitter and three dual USB socket plug-ins would give you a total of seven USB charging outlets.

Plug it into the 12 volt outlet that's part of the TV antenna amplifier - not the one on the dash, which might be wired to the chassis battery.

Ohhh Ken! Nice pix!
How do they compare to a stick house outlet in your opinion?

Lou- that is a great solution too! I might get it as well. Lately our trips have not been long driving and with full hook ups but that will be changing this May when we do our first official boondocking! I am so excited!

So I am going to get that set up too! (I will never be able to afford the Allure floor of my dreams if I don't behave!) :D
