I agree, though it is a bit off the beaten path, the place looks like a ran down shack, but the food is great. It is located on a small secondary highway about 5 miles south of Kaplan, Louisiana, which itself is about 20 miles due south of I-10. I just found a this quote by Anthony Bourdain from Parts Unknown, Season 11, Episode 7, sums up my experience, “One of the more awesome locations I’ve ever found,”

If you visit Natchez MS stop by Fat Mamas for tamales.

The Donut shop in Natchez also makes good tamales, as well as some fantastic donuts, I used to always make a point of stopping for some when I would pass through, unfortunately donuts are no longer much of an option for me.

Its not that bad if you are heading west and are not towing a car, I have stopped their twice in our motorhome, once just after we bought it and did not have a TOAD, and once when my wife was driving ahead in the TOAD for some reason.
