I finally found out how to replace the bulb on the light located next to the entry door, you have to cut thru the caulking on top of the light fixture.  I spoke to 2 Winnebago techs, they agree it is a bad (but only) solution for a simple problem.  The fixture is shaped like half a football, a chrome piece on top and a clear lens on the bottom, its the chrome piece  that is caulked to the side of the coach.  This chrome piece has to be removed so you can get to the screws that hold the clear lens assembly onto its fixture thus gaining access to the defective bulb.  This "oh, by the way" needs to be addressed by Winnebago.

Wow, what a terrible design issue that was!  This only serves to further my opinion that the people that design RV's, do not use RV's.

I think I would make the replacement bulb a LED bulb to avoid having to make that repair again for a long time...

They make a LED replacement for that and needs no dropping resistor. In fact they make replacement LED bulbs for many of the coach's 12 V lights. The ones I have used for that and some ceiling have roughly 20 LED's on each and have the proper base.

I really like the super bright white and they last. I haven't had to replace any yet and leave the "porch" light on a lot.
Hope this helps.
