You can't open it up and clean it out?

I've tried to clean it out, but it's sat for two years.  So far no dice so I ordered a new one.  Since I've replaced the magneto the spark is good which was the original issue.  If I shoot in starting fluid it fires up, but won't stay running.  I know the fuel pump is working so it must be the twenty year old carb.

If anyone is still following this thread.  Put in a new carburetor today.  It started right up.  I'll run it for an hour or two before I put it back in the Safari.  The hardest thing, except the flywheel, was waiting for the parts I had to order.  There is light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully it's not a train.

Good for you now run that puppy monthly.
Also look at the slip rings to make sure they are bright and shiny

I cleaned the slip rings when I had it apart.  It has only a hundred hours on it so we're hoping for some nice trips off the grid.
