since 1965 I've had 27 cars and 4 trucks and 5 motorcycles
nothing exotic but back in 1980 I did buy my uncle's unique 58 ford f-100 six that one of his buddies installed 2 hydraulic cylinders and made a dump bed truck.

Very few.
1970 Mustang fastback, used from Avis in '71, 103K now, doesn't run but I still have it.
1967 Falcon Futura 4dr. Dad bought new, he put a 100K on it, I put 200K more on it, doesn't run but I still own it.
1988 Jeep Comanche pickup, used, but nearly new. Gave it away finally after mechanical problems got to be too much. 160 something K on it.
1984 Ford LTD (small body, based somewhat off the Fairmont) Dad bought new, I inherited it at 17?K, drove it to 286K, head cracked, not worth fixing, one of Ford's throwaway engines. Sold for $100.
1991 Ford Ranger used with 19K on it, now has 322K, drive it frequently. Very good condition.
2004 Pontiac Vibe. (restyled Toyota Matrix) bought used at 50K and now has 274K. Daily driver, Best car ever.
2003 Dodge RAM 2500 bought in 2018 with 86K on it, now has 117K, use almost totally for pulling the travel trailer. Drive it otherwise to keep it running.

One new car, a 2 yr lease, 2015 Nissan LEAF, good car, not enough battery.

3 RV's 2007 Winnebago View motor home, bought in 2015, sold in 2019, a Thor Freedom Express 180 trailer, re did the roof, made two camp trips, found more rot, sold cheap to a co-worker, and the current trailer, a Bigfoot 21RB.

Wow lets see, I'm 74 and started with the first car at 16: wrote them down and could not probably recall every one, I stopped at 34 cars. had 5 motorcycles and 5 boats, then 2 trailers, 2 5th wheels, and 5 motorhomes. WOW, that was a fun process of trying to remember. Thanks for asking the question.

Counting was a nice trip down memory lane. Over the 59 years since my first car in 1965, the total is 30 cars, 17 as daily drivers and 9 were purchased new. Also 4 motorcycles with 2 still in the garage. Kept the new cars for at least 10 years each with one exception, The exception was a 2001 Lincoln LS 5 speed manual. The first manual transmission Lincoln since 1954. Probably still have it, but wife had a run in with a semi that sent the Lincoln to the junkyard. I've ridden the 1999 Road King Classic in or through all of the lower 48 states. The 2 current daily drivers are 5 and 21 years old, but the 21 year old will probably be replaced this year. Last new was 2018. Too old to justify another new vehicle. Still have 5 old cars and the towed. The old ones share time going to cruise ins in nice weather.

I misread the title. I thought it said how many cats… 14 in case you were wondering.
No one "owns" a cat. It's like sponsoring a child in the Congo. You pay for everything, they don't appreciate it, and they make contact with you twice before they decide to up and disappear.

I didn’t say owns in my post.

I’m sad you’ve had such bad experiences with cats. All of ours came to us sick and or starving. We turned that around for them. They are all very appreciative and stick around. Four of them travel with us.

No bad experience with cats, I just don't have any use for them. They don't do what you tell them to do, you can't train them to sit/stay/heel/fetch/come, and they won't retrieve a downed bird for me. A well-trained hunting dog will do all of that, as well as protect me and the household should some nefarious character break in, and be a companion to boot . A cat will just scat the other direction and leave you hanging. No honor or true loyalty. Just pretense because you feed them.

We had one cat when I was a teenager. Very cool cat. If I could be guaranteed that any cat I get would be just like that one I'd get another one in an instant.

Wow. Why was the one cat very cool?

He was laid back, he had no problem with being picked up and moved about if he was in the way, he never bit, he did his business outside where he spent most of his daylight hours, and he and our hunting dogs got along well. And strangely, he would come when you called him most of the time. Big, fluffy orange tabby named Simba.

Fun. That’s how my cats are, except for the dog part.

Our last dog died a few years back, working dog, farm dog. Good egg. He was before I started taking cats in. People dump cats at our farm. We rehabilitate them and most of them turn out to be great guys once we get them fixed. I have one in particular that is inseparable from me, follows me everywhere, will bolt at high speed to come when I call him. Sits on my lap when it’s cold. Sits at the edge of the garden when I’m gardening. Occasionally brings me a snake or a squirrel. Maine coon/forrest mix. He travels with me. The other three who travel with us are similar. It’s why they travel with us.

The other cats are rodent control in the barn, but all will come when they’re called.

I guess it’s how much you work with the critter to get the results you want.

Oh dang, I forgot a couple of beater cars.

2003 Toyota Corolla (The Crayola)
2005 Infiniti G35

These two were my daily drivers to work. The Crayola was just too small and uncomfortable, so I sold that and found the Infiniti. I drove that for a couple of years, and ended up giving it to my son after his car was rear-ended and totaled. He drove it for probably another 4 or 5 years. The driver's seat was just about gone in it, but otherwise was a pretty solid car.
