MS Word X service release 1

I have MS Word X service release 1. Have not had a problem until I tried to open a Document, with the extension .docx. It would not open in word but did in the text editor. It was save to a computer that had word 07, is 07 newer? anyone know why my word will not open this document? bill

DOCX is the newest format of Word documents and won't open in earlier versions of Word.  MS does make an addon for the at least some of the earlier versions that will allow them to open a DOCX file.  See this web page for the details.

Ned, do you know, will this down load work for a Mac? I've looked but can't seem to find anything for Mac. bill

No, it's Windows only.  I have no experience with resizers for the Mac.  Take at look at this for a resizer from Apple for OS X.
