Reservations???

Going to escape the wet coast in the new year leaving around the end of February. First RV trip south. Was wondering about the necessity of having reservations in the nicer RV parks in California and Arizona as we don't want to be tied to a schedule. Probably a difficult question to answer, but if we were to arrive in Tucson, say, in March, could we find a spot or are many places full?

Our RV park (Voyager RV Resort in Tucson) starts to empty out the 1st of March and by the middle of the month there are many, many empty sites.
