Looking for suggested route from Columbus, Ohio to DC.  I know I gotta cross mountains, but looking for a not so scary route towing a 27Ft trailer.  ::)

Thanks

Looks like I-70 is the most direct route. I've never taken it. Others will probably add to this pros and cons. ;)

I70 is a good drive. 6hrs from Columbus to DC.  After driving the Rockies, the rest are just hills.  I70 is a good drive, although you will find some inclines and down hill grades, they aren't real bad.  Start slow at the top and you will be fine, but make sure your trailer brakes are working properly.

70 the whole way thru PA? Not south at Washington, PA to 79 to 69? Someone suggested that route because its faster, but Im more concerned with steep grades than setting speed records.

You could drop down on 79 to 68 and take that over. You will connect with 70 again in Maryland.  You will have some grades, but I don't think you will find them too troublesome.
