Not many pix for Thurs, since we were in the Bison jam for an hour 45, or so.

We thought we were near the front -- there were more out of sight ahead.

Bison passing us.

Finally near the front.

An anxious crowd awaits the eruption.

Finally...

Rapids in the Gibbon River.

I can usually figure out what the international graphics are supposed to depict, but what the heck was that one of someone perched on top a of toilet supposed to mean?

We left at 6:00 am this morning to head to Lamar Valley and the wolf den that can be seen off Slough Road. It was a good thing we left so early since the two adults and three pups were pretty active for only 20 minutes after we got there. No pictures because they could only be seen well with spotting scopes.

One of the other advantages of getting on the road early is the mist that wreaths the river and thermal features. The first is the mist against the mountains while the second are just two little fumeroles by the side of the road. They are particularly visible at 33 degrees! The little one on the right also gave a deep drumming sound. I tried to capture it on my iPhone, but it was too low in frequency. It was too faint to hear if there had been any cars driving by.
