Pick my brain and all you will find is dust...LOL

Yes I have the max tow package. After looking over your sheet...you have my truck.
It's a great truck, But a 35 ft trailer is just too much (IMHO). I would have to stand by my above statement no more than 28 ft and only if the weights work out.
I love our truck. What color did you get? I got the ruby red metallic. I've wanted one for a while now but am wondering if I should have got the F-250. oof. Thanks for your input so I'll be checking out 28 footers for rear bunk house floor plan...*sobbing

I love that red i wanted one but ended up with black, trading up right now may not be in your best interest financially or for finding the one you want with the options you want. Signed - Not trying to be a jerk .

This is the floor plan we need. There has to be a 30' travel trailer out there for us with this floor plan and the light weight. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You're not coming across as a jerk at all. I very well could hole up somewhere, sell the F-150 and buy an F-250. I still have my Renegade so would not be carless. I would have to buy or rent a flat bed trailer and tow the Renegade to the kids' house in Texas and stay with them for a while. That might be an option. What a pain in bunns huh?

My suggestion is - go run around a few rv lots and see what you like that floor plan is relatively common but in different length units. Just leave the wallet in the car. A couple afternoons im sure you will find the right one and there are some good folks here that can help if you have questions

I hear wait times on super duty trucks is 6months on a factory order. IF you can get one and not all options are available- but if you are flexible you have all the cards

My kiddo and did exactly just that. We fell in love with the floor plan here. The teenager kiddo must have their own privacy/room with a real door. I really thought the truck I have could pull this trailer. What a shocker. I am feeling so bummed.

My opinion, for what its worth. Go order a new truck or find the one you want. Buy the trailer and tow it a few times till the new one comes in just be selective on where you travel to and go only on nice days , no it wont break but it will be less enjoyable - UNLESS you find a truck you like - if you go on Autotrader.com they have new and used units you may get lucky - search nationwide for best results, or if you know a good person at the dealership get them to do a search for you. Include 350s too its only $ few more but gives you way more options for towing bumper pulls and or 5ers

Here is the deets on towing - I think you get limited by tongue weight. TBH I am not sure how to read each number but...

5321 - Base weight before people, gas and any WD hitch you add. 4 pax @ 175 (700#) + 20 gallons of gas at 6#/gal (120#) WD hitch 300# + 200 miscellaneous =
6700 = Rolling weight subtracted from GVWR of 7850 max (?) =
1350# Available payload for trailer tongue weight + 6700 =

8050 All in Vehicle weight - Over weight (GVWR max 7850#) because of tongue weight.
So your max tongue weight can only be 1150# (minus 200#)

1150 / 12% = 9583 Max trailer weight and if you want a better tow 1150 / 15% = 7666#

This is also totally at capacity pulling a trailer with a ton of air resistance.

For reference my Dodge 1500 Classic ends up with a trailer weight rating of about 8500#

This is where not Tom or Ed but folks like 'em might help
They are truck drivers
The dealer can load it on a flat bed (low boy)
And the trucking company deliver to a dealer near you who can unload it.

Likely how it got from factory to original dealer.
Tom and Ed (Friends of mine) Drive the wrong kind of truck

Or some companies have tractors designed/rigged to tow rv trailers

That said. others have addressed the "Is your tractor (Pickup) Big enough.
I get scared watching some of the F-150s towing loads that would make a 350 sweat.

It a brown color....Not sure off the top of my head what ford called it. But as you can see here it looks good with the trailer..

Don't hate me. I just watched No Ordinary Path video on YouTube on towing a 37' trailer with his F-150. While I don't plan on towing a 37' trailer at this point, now I have hope that I won't need to sell my beautiful F-150 in order to realize my goal of RVing with the right floor plan of a travel trailer.

Thank you so much. I will check that out! I remember when towing my fifth wheel RV how the winds felt. I had a 2001 F-250 2WD back then. Was a good truck and never broke--put 213,000 miles on her. This F-150 I have now is just as large and so I thought with all the towing extra add-ons and the Ecoboost that it would be adequate for a tow behind travel trailer 30-something feet but apparently not. I'll get to digging into that calculator.
Towing a 5ver with a F250 will feel way different than towing a Travel Trailer with a F150. The 5ver places all of it's tongue weight right on the rear axle of the truck. The TT has all of it's weight on the rear bumper. A stout WDH is mandatory, and even then getting passed by semi's and larger RV's will be a bit spooky. Stay as far right as you can when large vehicles pass to mitigate the wind push as they go by. I drive a Class A 40' DP and can still get pushed around if I don't give them a decent amount of space.

And towing really isn't about what you can pull, it's more about what you can safely and routinely STOP. Trucks these days are a marvel of engineering, and the brake systems are amazing. But a lot of weight behind you pushing you down a hill can easily overcome all of that engineering. A tow vehicle with a good solid trans and a "tow/haul" mode is preferable.

Getting to your destination safe is way more important than getting there fast.

Yes tongue weight is a major issue. The sales people were perplexed as to my concern with tongue aka hitch weight xD boneheads. SMH
