@ziplock

I figure you should have a thread also!

BTW, do you have a first name?

What are you doing this weekend?

Today (Friday), I rode my Harley to Bridgeport, CA, via Yerington, NV, came back to Reno via Lake Topaz, & Carson City, NV. A loop of a couple of hundred miles. Very nice day for such a ride. Mostly around 70F.

I like to go to Bridgeport for lunch once in a while. To have the best tasting fish tacos I have ever had anywhere. But I see they do not look as good in the photos as they taste. One will fill up anybody. One Baja Fish Taco ($6.25) cost less than a gallon of 87 octane gas in Bridgeport, $7.00 per gallon.

More expensive for my Harley Road Glide Ultra, because it requires the highest grade available. Around $7.50 per gallon in Bridgeport. $45.00 to fill up a motorcycle is a bit ridiculous, but the bike is good for 300 miles on a tank so I was able to do the entire trip on my cheaper Reno gas at $6.20 per gallon (91 octane).

The Baja Tacos have a soft "shell" on the bottom, open face, like you would find in Baja, Mexico. But you can wrap it and get about half of it in there.

Here is their menu.

Here is the place I get them from. Next is what the Baja Fish Tacos look like, unwrapped. And then the three wrapped ones on the bottom with the French fries between two of them.

I'm making 15 bean soup today.

Had storms here Thursday night with 40 mph wind. No tornados like the south.

I listen to 2 radio shows this morning (garden shows), while I inspect my tomatoes and stuff I started from seed under lights to set out in the garden in May.

Hubby is dragging his feet about making up his mind when and where we are going to travel first.

I gotta play Wordle and Quordle each morning and drink my coffee from a timered Mr Coffee. I have it set to come on at 5am every morning. I check the forum for tips and tricks and travel destinations near here or somewhere else.

Maryland has stopped the state gas tax of 37 cents, I think it is so gas is 3.71 a gallon for 87 octane here in my area.

I don't know how to take a picture off my camera and send it to the computer and put it up here.

And I have to check in on the Washington DC eagle nest. They hatched 2 babies, but only one lived.

Waving at you @DonTom

Bridgeport for fish tacos, eh? Best ones I ever had were from a food truck in Panama City Beach, FL.
Another place with surprisingly good food is the Mobil station in Lee Vining. I haven't had their fish tacos, but the carnitas tacos are great.

First I have heard of that. I guess it's not common out west. Does it really have 15 different types of beans in it?

I guess you don't have a first name . . . .

Interesting eagle that gets her own live camera. I hope she and her baby doesn't mine being watched by so many. It is close to a road, as I hear the traffic.

Waving back to you and Mr. Ziplock & the eagles.

You gotta try one the next time you're up in Bridgeport.

It's 68.1 miles north of you and will take 1 hour and ten minutes for you to get there, according to Windows Maps.

I find it's not uncommon for food trucks and FF places to have better food than you can get in most restaurants.

The Cal~Neva Casino here in Reno has a real restaurant and also a small fast food booth close together. I have had the Philly cheese steak in each, the one in the FF both is one of the best I have had, the one in the restaurant is lousy by comparison.

@DonTom

Actually, yes. And I use this bag ;

and then add one more cup of dried great northern/pinto bean mixture to that bag, because hubby gets hungry, hahahaha

Now this could be as fun as WORDLE:

BTW, do you have a first name?

All of us on the forum chat all the time.

You have all read my posts.

Do I sound like an Agnes?

What is Ziplock's first name?

Waving at ya.

Agnes, that sounds as good as any other name.

I don't like real time on-line communications of any type.

Perhaps because I don't have time to think and then take back my stupid comments. ;)

Waving back to you and your hubby. What's his name?

Any kids, doggies, cats, goldfish, etc. in your family there? Just me here these days with a few house plants that are still alive that Tommy was growing before he died in 2016.

FYI... You can use the Conversation feature for this sort of personal chat - just click/touch the envelope icon next to your forum name at the top-right of the screen. Conversations can be one-on-one or as many people as you care to name as recipients. And it's still message posts rather than realtime chat.

Works pretty good, I've got one going with Don right now. I don't do multiuser real-time group chats either. Can't think or type fast enough.
I did used to like ICQ. It was a chat program where you could start up chats with random individuals, similar to Facebook messenger. I had a couple of people in Australia and one guy in Russia that I use to chat with regularly.

Today, I rode my 1971 BMW motorcycle first to SierraVille, CA and then on the way back, I stopped at Frenchman Lake.

I bought this BMW new in May of 1971, a couple of months after I got out of the army, with the money that was difficult to spend in the jungles of Vietnam. The Lic plate on it is "V11B" which means "Vietnam-Infantry" in the US Army language.

Here are a couple of photos. Notice the boat in the water, but I don't think it used the ramp on this side of the lake. Water level if still quite low there.

I just got back. I am now trying do decide what to do for lunch.

Yeah, I knew that and have used it often. I just sent ziplock such a message so she will know.

But I wanted this thread to be public in case others want to jump in, as some already have including you. :)

-Don- Sparks, NV (for lunch).

And people jump in on the DonTom thread.

They are just threads to chat and encourage others to have a spot to tell stories and thoughts and places to visit.

Hang on to your hats, because threads like these CAN AND DO WANDER!

Never know what you'll chat about!

Now @DonTom, did ya ever find a Sonoran Hotdog yet at a food truck, or eatery out there?

Maybe you can find one in New York City quicker than the southwest?

Look what I just now found on-line here in Reno!

They would have to have it. The Sonoran Hotdog originated in Sonora, Mexico which is around 70 miles south of Tucson, AZ.

The Mexican Hotdog place is 7.1 miles south of where I live here.

I think I know where I will go for lunch tomorrow.
